Returns Policy

Returns Policy

J&J Air Systems Ltd is committed to supplying high-quality compressed air, pneumatic, gas, nitrogen, and vacuum products and equipment. We understand that on occasion a return or exchange may be necessary, and we aim to handle all such requests fairly, efficiently, and in accordance with your statutory rights.

This policy applies to all orders placed with J&J Air Systems Ltd, whether online via jjairsystems.co.uk or by telephone, purchase order, or direct account.

1. Returns Eligibility

To be eligible for a return, items must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Returned within 30 days of the delivery date
  • In original, unused condition with all original packaging, labels, and documentation intact
  • Not a special-order, bespoke, or made-to-order product (see Section 5)
  • Not a consumable, lubricant, filter element, or other hygiene-sensitive item that has been opened
  • Accompanied by proof of purchase (order number, invoice, or delivery note)

Items that do not meet these criteria may not be accepted for return at our discretion. We reserve the right to refuse returns that show signs of use, damage caused by the customer, or missing components.

2. How to Initiate a Return

To request a return, please contact us before sending any goods back. Do not return items without prior authorisation, as unauthorised returns may be refused at the point of delivery.

Please have your order number, a description of the item(s), and the reason for return ready when you get in touch. We will issue a Returns Authorisation Number (RAN) and provide instructions on how and where to send the goods.

3. Faulty or Incorrect Goods

If you have received goods that are faulty, damaged in transit, or incorrect, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery so we can resolve the matter promptly.

Depending on the nature of the issue, we will offer one of the following resolutions:

  • Replacement of the faulty or incorrect item
  • Repair or rectification where applicable
  • Full refund of the purchase price including original delivery charges

We may ask you to supply photographic evidence of any damage or fault before arranging collection or authorising a return. In cases of transit damage, this evidence assists us in raising a claim with the carrier.

Your statutory rights are not affected. Faulty goods are handled in accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (where applicable to consumer purchases) and relevant business-to-business sale of goods legislation.

4. Special Orders and Non-Returnable Items

The following categories of goods are non-returnable except in cases of fault or incorrect supply:

  • Special-order, made-to-order, or custom-configured equipment
  • Goods that have been specifically sourced on your behalf and are not stocked as standard
  • Filter elements, lubricants, desiccants, and other consumables once the original packaging has been opened
  • Software licences and electronic downloads
  • Goods that have been installed, modified, or used

We will always make it clear at the point of quotation or order confirmation if an item falls into one of these categories.

5. Return Shipping

Unless the return is due to a fault or error on our part, the cost of returning goods to us is the responsibility of the customer. We recommend using a tracked and insured delivery service, as J&J Air Systems Ltd cannot accept liability for items lost or damaged in return transit.

For faulty or incorrectly supplied items, we will arrange collection at our cost using our nominated carrier. Please do not send faulty goods back without first agreeing the collection method with our team.

All returns must be clearly labelled with your Returns Authorisation Number (RAN) on the outside of the packaging.

6. Refunds

Once a returned item has been received, inspected, and approved, we will process your refund within 10 working days. Refunds will be issued to the original payment method unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Please note:

  • Original outbound delivery charges are non-refundable unless the return is due to fault or error on our part
  • A restocking charge of 15% of the invoice value (minimum £15) may be applied to returns of non-faulty goods; higher-value or bulky equipment such as compressors may attract a higher charge at our discretion
  • Account customers will receive credit notes in lieu of a cash refund where applicable

We will notify you by email once your refund or credit note has been processed.

7. Warranty Claims

Many products supplied by J&J Air Systems Ltd carry a manufacturer warranty. Warranty periods and terms vary by product and manufacturer. Where a product fails within the warranty period due to a manufacturing defect, please contact us in the first instance and we will liaise with the manufacturer on your behalf.

Warranty claims do not cover:

  • Damage caused by misuse, overloading, or failure to follow the manufacturer’s operating instructions
  • Normal wear and tear, including serviceable parts such as belts, valves, and seals
  • Damage arising from inadequate installation or maintenance by unqualified personnel
  • Modifications made without manufacturer approval

We aim to resolve all warranty claims as efficiently as possible and will keep you informed throughout the process.

8. Business-to-Business Purchases

For business customers purchasing on account or by purchase order, this returns policy forms part of our standard Terms and Conditions of Sale. Rights to return non-faulty goods are granted at our discretion and are not a statutory entitlement in B2B transactions.

If you have a specific contractual arrangement or framework agreement with J&J Air Systems Ltd, the terms of that agreement will take precedence where there is any conflict with this policy.

If you have any questions about this policy or wish to discuss a return, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
